American Advantage Program

The American Advantage Program (AAP) assists in eliminating costs to growers on new and existing almond development projects. American Almond Company offers the only development discount program in the industry and does this at no cost to the grower. We make it simple to plant/replant your orchard with no secret agenda tied to the deal. 

Here are the steps: 

1. ‘Development’ Form Submission: Submit the form to express your interest – from there we will discuss your project details and come up with the next steps. Terms and conditions will be discussed at this point if desired.
2. Project Planning & Agreements: Once we’ve connected and talked through the project details our team will formulate a detailed development plan to lock in timeline, pricing, and project details. 
3. Development Execution: After the planning is complete its time to get to work!
4. Your Crop is Purchased by American Almond Company: When the almond trees bear a crop, American Almond Company will then purchase that crop until a specified tonnage is achieved. 

Other Items To Consider: 

• Crop Planning: Some growers may prefer to discuss this at the beginning, and some may prefer to wait. Optimally we will discuss sales pool options, payment windows, etc.
• Volume & Term Incentives: On bearing acreage that may be sold to American Almond Company, separate from the Advantage Program, volume and term bonus pricing is offered at a highly competitive rate. (reach out for more information) 
• Development Pricing Incentives: There are added discounts available when combining additional acreage for development and/or selling your current bearing acreage to American Almond Company (this additional aspect of the discount is best understood after a discussion with our team)

Is There A Catch? No – There are no hidden secrets or surprises. The program does not impact earning potential on your crop and does not require a pay-back.  

How Long Is The Obligation: An orchard developed through the Advantage Program will have a weighted term of obligation where the product from that orchard is committed to American Almond Company for processing and sales. This is a pre-determined tonnage that will be discussed before the project begins. 

Is This A Loan: No – The program does not act as a loan requiring payback. There are no additional or unexpected payments that will be requested. 

Will this Discount Impact my Final $/Lb on my Crop? No – We will not deduct payment from your crop payment in order to “pay back” the discount. Top market rates will not be compromised and may even be exceeded with our incentive bonus structure. 

How Are We Able To Offer This? We are affiliated with a sister company which has developed over 30,000 acres of Ag ground across CA for the past 11 years. What Should You Expect To Spend? Most development projects range from $1,000 – $2,000 per acre. With the American Advantage Program you can expect to save between $200 and $800 per acre. There is a wide range of discounts available depending on acreage, additional volume committed to American Almond, and term length. 

Additional Incentives: At cost farming, management, and harvesting pick-up services offered at cost. Coupled with our farming division we are excited to offer an (as-needed) farming service to our growers – significantly cutting down farming costs to those that need it.
